Overview

UNC Neurosurgery at Goldsboro treats cervical and lumbar (spine and back) disorders and injuries and peripheral nerve disorders, such as carpal tunnel. We also specialize in brain surgery.

 

Our neurosurgeons maintain full medical staff privileges at Wayne UNC Health Care and our innovative and technologically advanced facility is designed specifically for outpatient and ambulatory surgery. Our care team is committed to providing you excellent care.

 

Currently, there is 1 Full time surgeon and 1 APP.  A retired surgeon takes call one Friday-Sunday per month.

Responsibilities

Surgeries Currently Performed by Surgeons  

*Only group in community that does spine surgery

 

Craniotomy for tumor

Craniectomy for posterior fossa tumors and hemorrhage

Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion (ACDF)

Carpal Tunnel Release

Cervical Decompression

Laminectomy/Decompression (Lumbar)

Discectomy

Kyphoplasty

Lateral Lumbar Fusion

Oblique Lumbar Interbody Fusion (OLIF)

Spinal Cord Stimulator

Transforaminal Lumbar Interbody Fusion (TLIF)

Ulnar Nerve Release

Burr Hole Extradural/Subdural Hematoma

Trans sphenoidal resection of macro adenoma (performed with ENT surgeon)

 

Each MD covers ER call for 8 days per month on Mondays-Thursdays. The other days of the month the MD’s share call for office patients and hospital consults.
